ok i have this NPR...do you think this U bend is too much and will not be an efficient intercooler piping set up?? imagine U bends on each end tank

 

It might be worth your while to do a little cuat-and-weld work on the end tank hose connections. You could straighten them out as much as possible, reducing the bend on the piping leading in and out, as well. I suppose it would only really be worth it if you knew someone who would do this for you cheaply, but those are my thoughts, nonetheless.

yes my friend and i were discussing that matter...and i think we might do that to eliminate as much bend as we can... and he welds for a hobby so the cost isnt too much of a problem...

 

see if you can turn the i/c around...

 

I think if he tries to turn it around, the tubing will interfere with the frame rails, if not the end tanks themselves. It might suck to run the piping under the frame/front bumper extensions; and it could suck a lot more to notch the rails to fit the tubing! I think this orientation might be the only way to keep the tubing up off the ground, and avoid cutting too much of the car's front end.

if i turn it around the end tanks just face the piece of bumper support...i think what we are going to do is make 30 degree cut on the end tank so that we can face it with end tanks in and i will be able to squeeze in the piping through there...but as it is right now with those end tanks...it has to face out as so in the picture... i will try the 30 deg cut though and hopefully that helps...

as an experiment we took a piece of aluminum and heated it up and tried to bend it...thinking we might be able to do this on the end tanks...but we took piece of aluminum heated bend and it BROKE...errrrr so unless anyone else knows how to position these end tanks please feel free to help

 

That does not look good at all. You need to take that thing off and sell it to me. Just kidding. It should work fine. Where did you get the cooler, thats exactly what im looking for but i havent come across one except on evil bay. Its a great cooler and can handle tons of boost. Best of luck man.

 

would you pay $200 for my IC?? i was thinking of going with a VSPL since i have gathered a little more money...

 

sence its not a cost problem go with how its setup. im sure you will be happy with the car. later on, few weeks or so, change it to a straigher pipe and see if you knotice a diffrence, take a before and after dyno mesurment too, post results. my guess it there wont be much diffrence.
