Default Turbo Question

I was planning to piece together a custom turbo kit. I noticed that a lot of people have turbo timers. What exactly do those do? I believe I know but just want to make sure. Would I need a turbo timer if I plan on getting Greddy Profec B spec II and Hondata? Thanks for the info.

A turbo timer keeps your engine running for a specified period of time to allow oil to flow through the turbo to cool it.

It is better than sitting in your car with the keys in the ignition and waiting. Some people say they help and some say it is a waste of money.. It seems like a valid reason to me and I would rather be safe then sorry.

The Greddy Profec B is a electronic boost controller and has nothing to do with the turbo timer. It allows you to control HI/LOW boost settings from inside the vehicle. Hondata is fuel/engine management and does not have anything to do with the turbo timer either.

Hope this helps..

Thanks for clearing it all up. I thought thats what the turbo timer did. Now, I guess I would like to hear different peoples opinion on wheather or not to get a turbo timer? Is it worth it? Its only $85 for one but is it really worth it?

Turbo timer or a water jacketed turbo are good, or both.

Secret Services is a great place. I have had my car tuned at ALOT of different shops and from what I have seen and heard they are very good at what they do. Good choice.

Let us know how everything goes and good luck.
