Default stage 3 definition

I have asked vapor to clarify but I know he stays pretty busy with ss and I need an answer quick.

when refering to a turbo with a stage 3 exhaust wheel, is the stage of the exhaust side the same measurement as the trim of the compressor side? thanks for the help.

I replied to the reply for clarification,

the pm stated the stage was the size, a stage 3 being bigger than a stage1 and smaller than a stage 4.

I was confused by this because I thought the a/r was the size, so I needed more clarification. thanks

the stage also refers to the number of blades on the turbine wheel. the A/R is a ratio of sizes of the wheel if i remember correctly

Isnt AR the ratio of the turbine housing... not the wheel?

ive never heard of a .63 AR exhaust wheel... am i missing something?

EDIT: compressor housings have AR's too, right?
