I don't think those are rolling shots. They look like panning shots to me. Either way, read up on how to really get those down.

For rolling shots you either need to have a fast shutter speed to catch the car in motion, or so give it that fast look like they have in a magazine, you need to slow the shutter down. either way, you need a steady rig. For a first photo shoot, it wasnt too bad. The exposure was a little high, but overall I would give you a thumbs up. Keep it up!

umm... yea. these are rolling shots, he needs to slow the shutter down a bit and get someone to drive for him so he can compose the shot better and hold the camera still. what you are seeing in the mags are rig shots, you will need a rig for these. you dont need a rig for rolling shots.

You don't need a rig for rolling shots. Only if you plan to do those crazy low, wide angle rollers.
