Put the d7000's AF through the paces last night at HBO Boxing. Khan v Maidana
Pics to come.
Initial thoughts...
3d tracking is almost as good at the d300s, misses in a few spots, the button position for rigged AF-On is janky (cramps my hand reaching my thumb over to the AEL button), 6fps is just barely enough for high action sports, ISO is very clean, switching through AF menus is a pain in the a**, but the body more then adequate for shooting sports.
need a grip ASAP. my hand hurts bad today, and i only shot one undercard to get the feel of it.
and oh yeah, only SD cards and proprietary battery makes me sad

excuse my verbage, spontaneous action... IE: fighting... Football, Soccer, Basketball, it would be perfectly fine. Im used to 8fps, so my timing is usually catching the "hit/contact" in the 2nd frame of the 3-4 frame burst. so i was barely missing the glove/face contact. im sure if i had more time to adjust it would be fine.
