Finally got an SLR camera!!
No one else does.
Make it smaller.
And having a MyFirstPicture thread with your D40 doesn't warrant you having watermarks on your pictures.
Honestly, there's really nothing special about the picture. It's a wheel, a scratched up fender, and an ugly ass AC unit and plastic chairs.
Go out, take 100 pictures, pick the 10 (or fewer) best, and make a new thread.

Was there anything special about your first photo with your first SLR? I realize you're just trying to give him a tip or two, but it'd be nice of you to think of less harsh ways to critique.
I'm just saying, it doesn't seem like very much thought or effort went into taking this picture.
And, like I've said before, it gets really tiring trying to think of a different nice way to say the same thing 400 times.
I didn't post my first picture because I knew it was nothing special. All of my first shots were messing around in my house so I could get used to the settings and stuff. It wasn't until probably 750 exposures that I really tried to shoot something. And it wasn't until 1000 until I got something I liked.

I have yet to see you ever post ONE nice thing about SOMEONE ELSE'S work.
