Just some General Aviation
Took these a little while back at the AOPA Summit at Peter O Knight. Some aren't super sharp but it was probably gusting in the double digits and hand holding a zoom lens is very difficult in the wind!

Color and saturation does look good as previously stated, the mid day time frame plays havoc on the whites though.
What lens?
What lens?

70-300 VR
Contemplating selling it to fund a 70-200. I'd love the new VRII but not for almost 2500! ha Unless I go pick up a job ASAP and then take out a loan and but that and a D3s

I had the 70-200 f/2.8 at one point, to be honest it wasnt everything everyone told me it was going to be. It left more to be desired at airshows and sporting events, and even at 2.8 it still seemed like a dark natured 4-5.6 lens. It was a great portrait lens, but I stand by my primes for that type of work.
If I ever have to shoot another air show, I'm going 400+ or going home, those guys dont mess around lol.
I'm about to have to make some sacrifices in my lens bag to move back home to Tampa, one of which is going to be the 17-55, for one of the reasons I mentioned above. I feel like I'm always chasing light with that lens, very dark natured and the barrel distortion is worse than my 18-55 el cheapo.

Interesting. Good point. But I was really only wanting the 70-200 so I can do more of my sporting events as well with it. Same with Car racing, hopefully. But yeah I do love the 70-300, it's typically very sharp and I cant go wrong with the reach, and then I could still strap on a 1.4 if I absolutely need to for the air shows (my dad is a pilot for Continental so we ALWAYS go to Air Fest and most importantly Sun N Fun!)
I think I will be looking more into primes again, gotta decide between the 60 and 105 right now!
