And I'm making fun of people who take myspace mirror pictures, something you wouldn't know about, right Brendan?

Nothing's wrong with Sigma. I said I have bad experiences with third party glass, not Sigma in general. There definitely are (some) third party lenses that take sharp shots with great optics, I'm not doubting it. Just as a personal preference, I usually only want to pick up or use Nikkor glass... but even some of those lenses let you down.

Wow lol i ordered 2 lenses for the D80 that i bought off of you, and this was one of them. This one and a 50mm 1.8 AF. I must agree that this 28-80 3.3-5.6G is a pretty awesome lens. it has great sharpness to it and i would definitely take it over the 18-55. The only thing the 18-55 has over this is the 18mm wide angle being an af-s. Other than that i am loving this lens! Congrats on your purchase, i bought mine from KEH as well and it just arrived yesterday.

That's funny mang! How's everything working out for you? If you need anything else, don't hesitate to give me a ring. Yeah, 28mm is goofy on a DX too and the lens is a little slow (from my use) in lower lights situations but all in all, cheapest lens I've purchased so far and damn fun.
