Default Just got a version of CS4, need some help with it.

I'm trying to change some colors around on a picture of my house, to see what color scheme would look best on it interior and exterior wise.

I've never used photoshop at all, but am very good with computers (i know, sounds weird, but its true. lol)

How would I go about changing colors of things, if someone could say take a screenshot and circle what buttons to click, etc. that'd be great. I was up for an hour or so trying to mess with it last night before bed and just got frustrated and turned the computer off.

Step 1: Select Polygon Lasso

Step 2: Lasso the house hold ALT and lasso to subtract from the section to remove windows and such.

Step 3: Create layer from Copy, CRTL click the layer it will select it.

Step 4: Color the layer desired color

Step 5: Using layer blending COLOR

Once you do that you can tweak the color, recolor, change the opacity of the layer, change the HUE SATURATION, etc

Oh sorry, forgot about the PM..... Instead of filling with a color and changing blending modes, try "Edit > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation" click colorize. You can even desaturate before that, sometimes makes it easier. Also try "Edit > Adjustments > Photo Filter" Click the button next to Color then click the orange box to change the color. You may want to uncheck Preserve Luminosity and play with the density. There are a ton of ways to do this, these are only a few.
Also, practice with the pen tool to create selections. The polygonal lasso will work for straight edges like this house but for objects with curves, you want to get to know your pen tool.

Look up YouTube videos to see it done in motion...pause it...do it on your PS, then move on to next step...pause it, do it yourself...move to next step. That's how I learned.
