Ive been wanting to get into photography for a while now and at out base PX they have these for the same price but tax free. Just looking for some imput on the camera.

Which on are you looking at? All the Canon models are on there.

Depending on how much you want to spend is really where you need to be. I mean hell, you can go out and spend the $2000 on the 7D, but unless you know how to use it, then you're wasting a bunch of money.

Personally, I'd start out with either a XSI or something equivalent. But then again, it's your money. Doing that is going to save you about $1300.

Again, one more reason why we need to make a sticky about, if someone makes a thread like this, they can just go read it and see some info, its always the same crap. decide for yourself, do your own homework, we are all biased one way or another and never reach a moot point.

just don't buy from a retailer like best buy. get it online from a legit camera store or a local camera shop like north tampa photo

You can get a new XS on amazon for $469 right now. Great starter camera and can't beat that price.

The only reason I Posted this was because I couldnt find a sticky lol. I've been reading reviews but a lot of the stuff they talk about I don't understand which is why I started reading the stickies more. Im trying to buy online because im at FT Hood TX rite now and everyone around here is looking to rip us off. lol like the car dealers selling cars with an intrest rate as high as 240% so I don't trust a lot of the retailers around here.
