5 lights. All at a little less than full power, IIRC. I think what we should have done was raise them up a little higher, and point them almost straight down. But because it was so dark and didn't have a lof of road to work with as it went right into grass on both sides, we couldn't reflect much light...

This is a tricky shot shot for anyone... I am not sure I would have pointed all the lights at the car like you said point them down.... Don't you think it is too much light???

cars hot, shot have some 'hot spots', but over all i'm sure next time around you'll nail it. i can't wait till you get a chance to go out and shoot it again.

IF you want to mess around snapping picture of it friday morning call taylor, i was going to help him take some "location shots" for an up coming magazine shoot but had to cancel due to work.

Mike,

I agree with modz365.

Could you have taken 1, maybe 2 lights from that side to light the other side of the car? That would light the interior, and the ground on that side more. (may sound silly. But it makes sense) It just seems obvious that the only light source is coming from that side.

5 lights on one car is a bit much. 3 is more than enough. Especially @ a little less than full power.

Again, tricky shot to pull off.

Yeah we could have done a lot of stuff. It was definitely spur of/last moment and we had to just get something down down. It was mostly a shoot for the Speed Hotties girls, these were just a few I took after they were done and we were trying to pack everything up.

But you can NEVAR have enough light! lol it would have been on par if we raised them and spread them out farther. Truuuuust me, I've been talking to Taylor and we're working on those magazine situations, and there will be more shoots of this thing very soon. Probably even a multi-shoot with some other familiar cars.

If only lighting was that simple.... There is such a thing as too much, lighting is sooooo important it makes a huge difference between good photography and great photography!!!!

Personally! I would have used some continuous lights to illuminate the area not the car probably two strobes no more than three and try and bounce them not point them at the car itself would have taken a lot of trial and error...
