just taking the same concept as putting it on the cars and such, and applying it to this stuff? I can only guess how much of a PITA valves covers are...

I wouldn't do this if it wasn't heat resistant , Vinyl wraps are applied with he aid of a torch, often getting hotter than a cars operating temp.
Ever see a car with decals on the calipers ? same thing.
