Default Car photography is not my thing but...

A friend of mine and Jake2k's wanted some photos of his car so we set out to give it a shot. Car photography is not really my thing mainly because i only have one flash to work with but i did the best i could with what i had. I know his car should be cleaned up a bit but it was kind of a last minute thing so i figured i would experiment.

The following 2 photos are the same thing just one with hood up but I was using the ambient that i could get and my single flash in a softbox with the diffusion panel up camera right to offer some fill.

I am no btuner but i figured i'd give it a try.

The results:

I like how the light on the brick wall emphasizes the shape of the VW. Maybe just a coincidence? idk.

It was a good place for ambient, that was part of the existing light but i felt it made the photo look more attractive.

Only complaint is that the hood is cut off. Otherwise, nice job.

Thank you! Yeah i noticed that on the ride home but i didn't want to waste the pic. It would have been much easier if i had multiple flashes but im pretty happy what i was able to get out of a one light set up. Portraits and scenery are more my thing but i figured couldn't hurt to try lol.
