Here are some shots i got of the kids and teens in Oldsmar doing some BMX at the dirt track out there. It was dark out so the sky isn't that interesting but I worked with what i had. It was a fun shoot and pretty dangerous, many times for the jump shots i had spinning tires inches from my face as they past. Adrenaline rush for sure, but hey have to take risks sometimes for the sake of photography.

i used to ride...been to oldsmar a few times

 

I love how the flash + long shutter make the motion blur effect, awesome.
The guy in picture 8 has an "ohh shit" face haha.

 

Yeah, it really works for action shots, i just wish the sky was more interesting, but events like this are usually after dark. Focus was a bit difficult,but i did the best i could with continuous focus. This was my first time shooting anything like this, much faster paced than the skaters i shot, so it was definitely a learning experience.

 

Damn! When did you go out there? I've always wanted to go down there but never know when they're riding.

Jake and I went down there about 7:30-8ish last night. The people that owned it were really nice and let us go out on the track and set up to shoot. It was a lot of fun but you have to trek through tall grass dirt and such. I ended up getting a skin rash on my arms from something from laying in the grass to get those jump shots, but again, totally worth it lol. I am not sure when they normally have events, last night was some sort of step towards a championship, like a qualifier.

 

I've passed that place a few times.. I was gonna swing through one day but haven't yet..

 

Yeah it was pretty fun, jake and i swung in there to see what we could do and they let us go on the track which was awesome of them

 

hmmmm... might have to see if i can convince the lady to stop by for a lil bit.. lol
