Default camera protection

so im interested in doing shoots involving water.. mainly skimming, curious about any tips/advice to keep camera dry and being able to really get in the action, i would love some advice on this and i think it could be a good discussion thread. please any comments are welcome

Ziplock bag, with a very carefully cut hole that lets out just the lens. Ive done it a few times.

Properly to do it get your self a in-house case but you know those don't come cheap.

But since I know you aren't going to sink that kind of money into one because if one were to have that kind of money you might as well buy a used 70-200 and stand on land and shoot some nice stuff..

But since you don't have a in-house google online how to make one your self, that always works too. Ziplock bag will only help from the splashes but what if you fall or a wave comes or something knocks it into the water...

electric tape a plastic bag around a uv filter and screw it to your lens and rap the while bag around the cam.

you're best bet is getting a longer lens and shooting from a distance. otherwise, there's no cheap solution to waterproofing SLR's. Or just take your chances and get up in there and move very quickly if you see water!

they have fancy bags for underwater shooting, not that much money, but not as nice as those housings they sell.

i think ill go with longer lens and distance, what you think like a 300?

what do you have again? a quality 70-200 will do the job. I'm with Nikon (obviously) and LOVE my 70-300.

canon, 40d and xsi, both kit lens' my 40d is 135mm and the xsi i think is only 55mm so yea im looking to step it up just need money
