If it's an indoor graduation f/5.6 will probably be way too slow. Here are a few places that rent lenses:

borrowlenses.com
rentglass.com

They're both mail-order type places, I don't believe anyone local rents glass.

yea i just meant a long glass so i dont get in the way lol (just imagine me standing like right next to the dean) but thanks man i appreciate it... incase its outdoor do they have hoods?

I got mine from rentglass.com. Im up here in atlanta and one of my photo buddies here rented from a local place. He rented a 300 2.8 IS and he had to write out a $7k deposit check and give them 2 credit cards to have on file. Fuck that!
I really wish I had bought a monopod to use with this, 400mm you do get a bit of camera shake.
