Default Battery Grip for the Canon 40d/50d. Which one are you using?

Just got my 50d camera and starting shopping for accessories. I was looking at the Canon battery grip and noticed they are quite expensive compared to off brand grips. (2 to 3 times more.) When it comes to battery grips, does that old saying apply? "You get what you pay for." There is several grips available for the 40d/50d that are right around the $100.00-$125.00 range that also includes batteries. I'm curious to know what you guys are using, if your using one. Any info you can provide would be great. I just don't want to get a ebay grip that falls apart a couple weeks after owning it. If getting the Canon grip is the way to go then that's what I'll get, but I would like to save some money getting a 3rd party battery grip so I may save towards other accessories.
Thanks...

I dont have either, but the updated grip for the 40d/50d has better weather sealing compared to the 20/30d grips, the canon made ones that is

If you get an aftermarket battery, look at the mAh ratings. You will find that for your camera there are many. The greater the mAh rating technically the better (longer power)

A 1600 mAh should be fair enough to get some good number of shots.

If you spent the money on the 50D get the OE stuff. Trust me! I'm always a fan of getting OE stuff (minus lenses cause those get too costly for me right now) so like speedlights and usually cheaper accessories for the camera body I stick to OE.
