Default Couple of camera questions

I'm still new to photography so forgive me for these newbie questions.

First of whats the best way to clean your lens? I bought a cheap kit from Ritz and the cleaning cloths that it came with leave alot of little fibers all over my lens and it's very annoying. Is there an easier/better way to clean it?

Also is there such a thing as a external stand-alone flash, like one that fires by a trigger on the flash and not on the camera?

Also here's a few pics I'm proud of so please tell me what you think.

best way to clean a lens is with those very thin papers and some solution. OR what I do it just use one of those cases for my Oakley's.

what camera do you have? there are ways to do off camera flash. can do it wireless (but that will usually get more expensive) or you can get the cable that mounts to your hotshoe and then attaches to the speedlight and then you can do it that way...

I would need a stand alone flash cause I dont have a DSLR therefore no way to hook it up to the camera.

lots of other cameras sometimes have a hot shoe. Dont know about yours. if it doesnt, youd have to be able to fire the flash somehow. Some cameras have a plug in for a sync cord or to use a pocket wizard. I dont know about yours. Some flashes can be fired wirelessly by certain cameras or by detecting another flash going off.

I have a Panasonic FZ28 and there's no hotshoe and I dont think theres a sync thing either. I've never seen the ones that sense your flash though that seems like it might work. I'm guessing there prob pretty expensive though...

Alright. You have a point and shoot basically. So you are kind of S.O.L. in the field of being able to do off camera lighting. If I were you I'd start digging deep through Panasonic's accessories and see what they have for ya.

It's better than a point & shoot, hell it cost alot more then one haha. I figured that there wouldnt be anything that would synce with my cam thats why I wanted to know if there were such a thing as a stand alone flash. Like basically a flash that has a trigger that's set off manually, maybe I can build one o_O
