Default Honeymoon Island - Birds and Critters

A few from yesterday- have not been out there in a few months.

Red-Shouldered Hawk

Ospreys

Red-Bellied Woodpecker

Bald Eagle (From behind the fence- 400mm and super cropped)

What it actually looked like at 80mm

And these things- these really creeped me out. There were so many of them when they all moved you could hear the buzzing of all their little legs going. Glad they seemed to be scared of me- I was having visions of falling down and them swarming all over me.

I swear the one on the right was trying to convince his friends to go after me...

I need to stock up on some lenses LOL, What camera was used? Is a D300 Digi Rebel capable of stuff like this, given the right lense is used?

Mario, it's not all in the lenses. It's mainly in the post processing (editing) but the lens helps out too lol

I'm gonna have to disagree with that statement.. PP might make a huge difference in certain types of photography (HDR, etc). But in regular photography (like the shots above), it doesn't. Obviously, there might be some "editing" involved, but the way a photo turns out isn't dictated mainly with editing as you said. Alot of people don't do much besides a simple resize, while others do much more. And lenses can make a HUGE difference.

To the OP - Very nice shots
