Fire photography sucks. (long story)
So me and cchimpanze were driving around bored, and we happened to drive passed a dumpster that was lit on fire by some punk kids. There was already a cop on scene along with an off-duty one, and we pulled into the parking area behind the Bealls where it was located. I started to snap photos the best I could, since I didnt have my tripod with me and I was just bracing my camera against the window.
Next thing you know the deputy is shining his flashlight at me and stuff. I go to pull out and the deputies stop me and ask what I was doing. I say taking photos and that I am into photography and that junk. They ask me to pull back into the parking lot, and I do. They ask the usual ID thing, but then tell us to step out of the vehicle. I was like umm ok. I get taken to the back of the car, chimp towards the front. They start asking if we had anything to do with the fire and stuff.
The undercover cop then asked if it was alright to search the vehicle, and I said go right ahead. I said you won't find any drugs or illegal items for that matter. He goes through it and gets my camera. He asks me to turn it on and I let him flip through the photos. He starts going through them and junk, I tell him I will delete the photos at his request. He said it was alright. He asks why I had my camera and I explained once again the photography business, how I even had a website, how it was a $800 camera. Three more cops pull up, lights on and the whole "shabang". He shows them all the photos and one little short cop makes jackass comments about them. Cchimpanze ended up taking photos of a security camera out of boredom at a McDonalds so the little cop comes to me and asks why I did it.
I point out that the photo was from the passenger seat and then he says how its not. I point out the obvious to show it was while have an attitude in the process and he absolutely flips. He gets on his little tippy toes and gets in my face, cursing at me and saying how he will take the camera and the car then take me in for arsonary. I made the smart move and said that I apologize and did not mean too, and he stares me down for 30seconds straight in the eye.
They run us through the computers and I come back clean. But oh no, Cchimp had a little something on record. I guess back in the day he shot a flare into the woods behind his house accidentaly, catching it on fire. He had to go to some fire class and all that BS. I'm thinking that is probably the worse thing that could come up in this case. At this point we both start getting interrogated like hell, they wouldn't shut up. They kept saying they had us on tape (even though there clearly wasn't a camera in sight) and how we should just confess. After being annoyed for about 15mins I finally just say look, does it matter? You have the tapes so go look at them, I guarantee you will not find my ass or his ass anywhere near that dumpster, so until they are pulled stop asking me questions. The little cop just kind of gives me a stare. We stand around for about 30mins while they kind of stand around doing nothing. Eventually one cop just says alright you can go. The little cop seemed upset he wasn't able to tazer me.
Anyways I figured I'd share.

Blurry but you can clearly see the light from the cop, firetruck and dumpster on the right:

Yea, I guess this was the second night in a row it had happened. The little cop was such a dick though. All the other cops were chilled out but I guess because of his size he had to act tough and go after me because I am a bigger dude.
Cops with insecurites FTMFTL.

Cops with insecurites FTMFTL.
i can somewhat understand why they did that. some people get their jollies off by burning shit and taking pictures of it. Of course you guys know what your intentions are but the cops have no idea. They pry don't know anything about cameras and photog. IMO, they were just doing their job. Sounds to me like little guy had little mans syndrome and gets his jollies off by fucking with tall people
Yea the little cop called me a sick fuck because I was taking photos. I really didn't like him. I was talking to another officer who was taking down my info and he was just standing around making cracks about everything I said.
Screamin' Cobra off SVT??? lol
