Post production....
In all honesty, I used to PP all of my images quite heavily (adjusting curves, levels, saturation - cloning out large portions of the image if need be, whatever). Lately I've been doing my best to zoom rather than crop, and eliminate distracting elements rather than cloning them out in post. In other words I do my best to get the best images that I can out of the camera so that I can do as little PP as possible.
Why? Well, I enjoy photography more than post production - just a simple preference and after all this is a hobby for me, not a job. That being said, I still clone out random oil spots on pavement and things like that because things like that just irk me.

I dont agree with having to spend tons of time editing pics, and with editing every pic, thats just not true. Sharpening every pic is also not necessary. I have lots of clean, print ready pics that dont need any touching up at all
When i say for print i mean for publication. And yes everything that goes to print (publication) needs sharpening, i promise you.

SRO, you're classifying the general participants of this forum on the type of work that you do IMO. The majority of us will only ever have photographic prints made, and because of that I think you're going to be miles apart from the rest of us when it comes to requirements for each individual image. What do you think?

could be, but its best to start somewhere. Anyone can sell images. Its not hard to get published. It would be awesome if everyone submitted their photos. The first rejection is like a kick in the ass. You guys can do it!, ill even show you some of teh steps, as long as you guys dont steal some of my jobs lol j/k

From what I undestand, there are quite a few publications that demand film vs. digital unless you have a 20MP digital camera...
So I understand where SRO is coming from.
The point is that PP is not a bad thing & it doesn't make you a lesser photographer if you do PP. It is an additional tool in our arsenal.
