Default Damnit!!!

Should have waited a little longer on upgrading.

Or I suppose I could still sell mine, its still DAMN fresh and barely used.

Nikon has the new D700 coming out, basically a baby D3. Heard its going to be priced very closely with the D300.

DAMNIT!!!

D700 from Nikon

I'll believe that when I see it. I'd guess it will be priced more like $2500-2999. Don't be so quick to drop your D300 - are you in this to have the latest equipment or the best equipment? If you look back to when the D200 came out, the first iterations had severe banding issues and what not.

Just stick with what you've got, your Sigma lenses are DX (ie. not full frame) anyway. You'd be able to use them (assuming the D700 has a crop mode) but why would that be any better than what you're using now?

Just my opinion, but there are always going to be new cameras. Usually when Nikon drops their prices it's because something new is in the works.

Check this out - 25444 Nikon D700 Digital SLR

$2,999, as I'd guessed. That's almost as much as two 300's.

no, its ok though. fun topic. gonna be a sweet camera for those who are in that field of game and dont wanna drop the $5k on the D3, that extra 2000 will be well spent on a lens (yes i said that singular haha)

I really want a 70-200VR. That would eat up most of that $2k quite nicely.

I wasn't impressed with the 80-400VR. It has good range, but any time you get into something with such a huge focal range the quality drops. Either way, 70-200 or 80-400... they're both really heavy. Can't imagine walking around Busch Gardens or somewhere like that for a whole day with either one attached.
