I don't have much experience "covering" sporting events but I thought I would give it a go. Any feedback is welcome. A lot of these were shot mid day with sun directly overhead, or close to it, which made things challenging. Some were shot in extremely dry and dusty conditions. All in all it was a fun learning experience. I have more I can post if anyone is interested.

sweet ive always wanted to shoot something like this

 

Good Stuff... I just shot a good friend of mine while he was road racing... ~> I had NO CLUE what to expect when I got there and I'll say that it was pretty challenging to catch him going by at 30mph in a pack of 125 people!!!

Over-all, He placed 3rd

 

If you'd taken those pics of me, I'd be very happy. That's what counts, right?

Why is there water everywhere in the last pic?

EDIT: I'm not a cylcist. It was just an example.

he's coming through the feed zone, where riders get water and/or food, and it was 103 that day so people were throwing water on the riders to help them cool down. The little kid in the back ground in throwing the water on him.

 

nice, props to him.

shoot road races can be pretty hard, and fairly hit or miss. these are from the athens twilight criterium.
