Default Snell Arcade

After I finished coding my website I realized I obviously have to populate the thing with my images. I looked through my images for about two hours and realized that I've really been focusing too much on cars lately. Today I started the long road to recovery, and these are my latest attempts.

From the city's website: Built in 1928, the Snell Arcade is a fine example of Mediterranean Revival architecture and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The property is significant for its association with C. Perry Snell, who was instrumental in the development of St. Petersburg in the early part of the twentieth century and Richard Kiehnel, a noteworthy architect who is reputed to have inaugurated the Mediterranean Revival style in Florida. More info here.

I really hope to continue documenting some of these places and things that are St. Petersburg's landmarks. If I do get out there and make a collection of these images as I'd like - I'm gonna make a whole thread for it. Till then, this will have to do. Hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Sorry Chris, I didn't even think about it because I thought your camera was out of order. I was looking for someone to join me too...

Oh well, next time. I have a bunch of landmarks on my list, so I'll be doing it again.

Hope I don't ruin the shot with this question. What was the e.t [exposure time] on the first shot. You can actually see the truck turning

Nice second shot though! That damn car! Was it yours lol?

Both shots are HDR, I think both shots were 5 exposures, each one separated by 0.7EV. At first I thought I'd shop out the truck, but it grew on me.

As for the second, I don't mind the car. It's the sort of picture I'll look back on after thirty years and go "OoOo, look how ugly the cars were back in ought-eight."

What do you guys think about the building being vertical or not? Both pics are different, and I played with PS for 20 minutes trying to straighten them... I just couldn't get them to look completely vertical so I just left em.

I've been in it before. I was amazed to find that it's just a regular building covered with black panels.

No idea why they did that.
