Default April 2008 Contest: Long Exposure

Theme: Long Exposure (3 seconds and up)

Thanks to everyone who participated in the contest last month! We had a great turn out for March's contest and it's going to be very difficult to vote on. Per a couple of peoples suggestions and comments, we're trying something new this month.

Rules:
For the month of April, here's the rundown:

1) Assignments will run bi-monthly with an assignment from the 1st through the 15th of the month and the 16th through the end of the month. This didn't work the first time. Contest extended untill the END OF APRIL.

2) .:Chris:. will judge the winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd) and is not eligible to enter. The 1st place winner then chooses the next topic, judges the winner and passes on the baton to the new champion.

3) To keep a level playing field, ***the photos for the assignment should be taken within the assignment period***

6) Each photo should be no larger than 800 pixels at its largest side

7) Borders or Watermarks are permitted

Post the camera type, lens, and if possible the EXIF data (shutter speed, aperture, iso, etc) with the photo.

9) Photographers should also be regular posters on Tampa Racing.

10) One entry, no more. If you can't judge your best picture than you shouldn't expect me to do so either.

This isn't because we are a bunch of elitist jerks, it's a way to keep the number of photo submissions down to a manageable level for the judging
and because it is a TR photographer assignment after all.

10) Violations of the rules listed herein may lead to the deletion of your submission. If your submission is deleted, I'll leave a reason and you're welcome to resubmit before the deadline.

These changes have been brough about specifically because a few people have asked for them. We will try them out for the next month, see how they go, then evaluate our options at the beginning of May. Post questions in the contest talk thread if you have them. These contest rules were drawn up by BrewPuBeaver (with a little editing by myself) and the theme was decided by btuner. Thanks to both of you.

Contest Topic:
Long Exposures

Qualifications and Exclusions:
No tail-light or head-light trails.

Exposures must be three seconds or more - THIS WILL BE VERIFIED BY YOUR EXIF DATA. NO EXIF = DELETED ENTRY.

This isn't for this assignment, since I just found out about the forum section... just wanted to share a recent long exposure shot I took for an online assignment themed "circles"

Here is the EXIF DATA just in case the shot is accepted.

This contest is closed, but VERY FEW OF YOU STILL HAVE EXIF DATA.Per the rules, the pics need EXIF so I can verify exposure time.

I'm going to make my decision tonight, those without EXIF will hae to be excluded.

my question is about the data you need... its embedded in the file correct?? meaning when you download the pic its in it, when i use Lightroom it shows that info. or is it some other file that needs to be downloaded... just was wondering exactly so next time i know what to look for or post up, if required. thanks
