Tampa BayCycle will host its first BayCycle Photography Contest. The competition is open to people interested in photography and bicycling. Participants should submit an 8- by 10-inch photograph along with a digital copy on CD to BayCycle Photography Contest, New North Transportation Alliance, University of South Florida, 4202 E Flower Ave., CUT 100, Tampa, FL 33620.
Photographs can be color or black and white and must have been taken in the Tampa Bay area. A bicycle or part of a bicycle must be included in the pictures. All entries must be postmarked no later than March 30. Winners will be contacted by April 23. Prizes are a combination of bike gear and gift certificates. Winning photographs will be displayed at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, 200 N Tampa St., in May. The fee is $10 per entry; $5 for students. Interesting idea, but they want me to contribute my time AND money so that they can have the rights to use my pictures?

As a condition of entry, Tampa BayCycle retains the right to use, display and republish images submitted for the contest in the promotion of the contest and subsequent gallery exhibition.
