like 351coupe said its not cheap, i personally dont like wetsanding and buffing other peoples work cause some of these shops will put one coat of clear on to save money, then you burn the clear and stuck repainting something....

Could not have said it better myself, give us some more info on the car, is it the original paint or has it been redone, if it has been re-painted then supply some info on what kind of paint. I.E. was it a single stage or base coat clear coat.

Wet sanding and buffing is one of the biggest jobs to do when you paint, that is where you make it look great, so being that it is that much of a job not only to wet sand and buff your own work but to go over somebody's work and try to make it look good is a hard task at best.

I'm considering having someone wetsand and buff my vehicle as well. Seems like the prior owner of my vehicle used a scotch pad or some super abraisive brush to clean bugs off the front edges of the hood and roof.

What is a rough cost for this type of work? Can you get away with just wetsanding/buffing the effected panels?

The car has factory paint on all panels except for the bumper covers.

There's a diffence in sanding a car out after fresh paint and wet sanding a couple of messed up panels. The majority of the stuff your talking about will come out just buffing the areas if the person knows what there doing.Wetsanding factory paint is a very tricky job for the simple fact of there's not much clear to work with.it can be done,I've done it a millon times,it all depends on the factory paint and like I said above,a person who knows what there doing.Factory clear is very easy to burn.
