Default How do you remove pinstripes???

i was wondering the best way to remove these, especially really old ones. I got the front half removed bc half the car was repainted and they were still newish. but the back half is dried out and hard as a rock.

For the front i used an adhesive removal spray and plastic scraper (still left scratches though)

any suggestions would be great.

Eraser tool would be the easiest way.But lacquer thinner and a plastic razor blade is a cheap way,but you might need to buff out the scratches.

Grab a spray bottle with soap and water, gently with a razor glide it carefully taking it off little by little. Or you can buy an eraser, hooks up to a drill and it erases the stripe. Then use lacquer thinner to clean the glue residue.

I would agree with 351Coupe, hit up a local paint supply store and ask for an "eraser tool" and they will give this little rubber wheel you attach to a drill. Its designed to remove stripes without hurting the paint. You still may want to use a light polish or something afterwards. good luck!

Your probably talking about mineral spirits or alcohol of some sort. Some pinstripes peel off real easy, others are cracked real bad which makes them difficult. Thats when the wheel is needed or preferred anyhow.
