vehicle wrapping
anybody here considered getting their whips wrapped instead of painting over stock paint? the material i work with is 3M ControlTac® which is used mostly for advertizing vehicles and Nascar shells. It comes with a laminate that keeps the prints looking great without fading for 5 years minimum. when u ready to change, no problem! it peels off easily without any damage to your stock paint and no sticky adhesive to clean up.
ur talkin full wraps i suppose... sounds right. there's the option of the ˝ wrap as well. plus i've used vinyl combos that've helped in dropping my production cost. and thats $2000 for a printed job, which would b the cost of wrapping a van, lawn-spraying rig or a full-sized pickup. i've covered my Accord for less than that cost. there are colored repositionable wrapping vinyls available as well in metallic finishes for a one-color job if desired. it's costly, but if your ride is sponsored it'll be well worth the investment. custom airbrushed jobs with just as much detail or less cost just as much, but when u ready to sell ur ride, who's gonna give you your money's worth now that you've painted your car checkered with the Energizer Bunny on it? as far as customization goes (and thats where i'm goin with this) the option of wrapping is both cost effective in the longrun and prductive as far as advertizing is concerned. trust me... i do this for a living.
btw... did u know they've recently introduced candy paint vinyl made of real automotive paint? got some samples a cppl weeks ago and they look gr8!
