Default Scratches in windshield?

hope i'm in the right spot here... and this may seem like a simple question, but i have searched & not found much help... my windshield has minor scratches on it where the wipers are. was like that when i bought it a couple months ago. changed the blades then too. i've read some sites that said try alcohol pads, toothpaste, and ive scrubbed the hell out of the window. nothing has worked. any suggestions? would a polishing kit work? or is it something to take to someone to save some time and effort? and if so, where? you all probably know what i'm talking about, but its like if any light reflects on the window you can't see sh** but when it's wet it's completely fine. hope that helps. thanks anyone in advance for any help! i appreciate it. =]

eastwood sells a glass polishing kit that is supposed to eliminate the scratches that you are talking about. they are caused from the wipers pulling sand and dirt across the windshield and over a period of time all windshields do it. i have never used the kit before but usually anything from eastwood is worth a shot. if that doesnt work, a rock to the windhsield and a call to your insurance company should get the results you are looking for

scratched on the outside doesnt matter, scratched on the inside isnt much either, just more noticable when they are tinted
