Ok so my second gear had been acting funny. Whenever I would rev my car up in first and drop it into second it would grind. A bunch of people said it was probably my synchro. Well today the whole damn shifter went haywires. I can now move my shifter from left to right and up and down WHILE ITS IN GEAR. Does anyone have any idea why its doing that and how to fix it?

Sounds like your tranny decided to take a shit on you. It might be the bands or syncros + some other stuff...but you are best taking it to a shop for repair.

 

hpefully though its just his shifter bushings are all worn out..remember aaron..it is FWD.. lol they have those two bars going up to the tranny

 

My synchros are dead but it just makes a grinding noise. My tranny is taking a biiiig load on me. It sucks. Itll take 1500 to fix. Damn Ill just do a swap!

hey epic did you ever get your shifter looked at?

 

Didnt take it to a shop. I went over to my friends house and we put the car up on jacks. We took out the shifter and saw what was broken then we welded the bitches together. It beat paying to get it fixed.

 

So hows the shifter work now??

 

The shifter is working good but Im still having the problem with second gear.
