Default Which O2 sensor is #1??

I recently got a 94 BMW 740il, and had a Check Engine light throw code 1221, which is O2 Sensor 1... I have 2, and imagine it is the first one inline with the exhaust... anyone confirm this? Thanks.

Hmm... probably have to check a manual... I assume since you have the same motor that I do you have the true dual exhaust with o2 sensors right next to each other right before the cats..

I have yet to actually get under this car. I have a single pipe muffler, but not sure if they come together under the vehicle. Someone else mentioned that this motor should have them both before the cat...

there is a single muffler... but it is a true dual exhaust set-up (once again if it is similar to mine which i assume it is) and yes both of the o2 sensors are pre-cat as the car is OBDI.
