The turbo 3.3 uses 97 mm pistons. If you found a good set of used turbo jugs you could have them bored and replated which would get you close to your goal for a lot cheaper than a new kit.
Not a bad idea. I didn't even think of the turbo set up. I am going to start looking into pricing of having them bored and resleeved.

Thanks for the idea.

It's actually from a company named Renegade Hybrids, but they had... shit, I can't think of the name. I wanna say like STS, or some frigin company build them for them.

Ya, i think I've heard of them. I think they make V8 swap kits for the 914. I was considering a 350 swap for awhile.

They do the swaps for all of the Porsches. The 350 route is pretty cool, but the transaxles will break if you run a decent set up of a motor.

I went out there and visited them for a week, they are really cool people.

They swear by the 914 V-8's, but I am not convinced yet. Yes, they run like raped apes, but I wasn't very impressed with the conversion kit, plus you have to hack the car apart for the radiator setup.

Ya, mine had A/C up front, which left little room for a radiator. I say had because between the rebuild time my landlords workers backed a backhoe into my baby. They paid it out but the car was half apart and rusty. I figured I will just take the money and start over with something a little less rusted. I looked into the 350 swap but figured 84mm crank and 94mm pistons were the way to go. I still got the roof and other minor things laying around for the next 914 that will be less rusted, hopefully

Sounds good. Let me know if and when you need parts, I have a very good line on some stuff.

BTW, I believe it is TCI that makes the bellhousings for Renegade.
