Cool Wohooo!!!

Not really Nissan related one bit, but I got a job at Meineke Car Care Center in Spring Hill and will be starting next week!!!! I do need to get a locking tool box and some air tools like air ratchet and impact gun + some impact sockets. I'm effing excited, now I'll have some full time work and funds to dump into a (S)hit bucket.

awesome man. good for you.
how long has it been that you didn't have solid income?

always feels good to get a job and know that there will be money coming in.

congrats.

tip on your tools, i wouldn't invest too much right off of the go. check out harbor frieght and craigslist. A lot of times, if you are using a shop compressor, it might not be well taken care of, and you don't want to be pumping water and crap through expensive tools. Or worse, you don't want to invest a ton into tools, just to loose the position in a month. Hopefully you get lucky and get a good deal on Craigslist.

good luck to you though

^ Thanks Empire. Its been a minute since I've roofed, atleast 3 months and I haven't has solid income since then. I've been living off of food stamps and selling random parts I've been hoarding to pay for my pitbull pup who eats food like there's no tomorrow.

I have all the essential tools minus air tools and that locking tool box. I found a guy on CL selling an impact gun, impact ratchet, air sander and 2 smaller looking impact guns for $60 and a 10 drawer craftsman roller toolbox for 150 that has the key for it still. They guy said I'd probably be doing alot of oil changes and basic tune ups so as of now I have everything to do that and brake jobs, I already know how to use a tire machine and its been a minute but I know how to balance tires too. Also I have strut spring compressor tools and I've done alignments (back in high school auto shop class) but it shouldn't take me too long to figure out the balancing and doing alignments. Right now I'm trying to get my family to front me $ for the toolbox and air tools

sounds like you found a really good deal.

anything you can do to speed up the process of a oil change will help your bottom line.
are you getting paid hourly or flat rate?

last I knew, an oil change was only 15 minutes of flat rate. So you really gotta whip them out to get a good pay check.

Yeah I have an oil filter wrench and probably close to 300 pieces of tools needed for automotive work. Idk how I can make an oil change any faster than to be quick about it, drain oil from drain plug, remove filter lube the rubber grommet and add new filter and oil. The shop manager was talking about needing more people to work for him its him and 2 other guys right now and he said he gets 80+ cars a week but the 2 dudes there were constantly coming back in from the shop and looking at the ******* program just to do a simple brake job so he may be trying to replace them idk. But he found mine and my my friend Jake's resume on CL and called us both. I've already worked under my dude Jake at a previous shop we worked at here in Brooksville putting 24's on boxes and welding up custom built lift kits, I've already got the job and my dude Jake is going in there later today... The shop manager at Meineke couldn't stress enough about how badly he needed a team there

lol. I was just thinking that too.

good. it sounds like you have the right experiences and do really well.

What I was meaning by speeding things up is instead of taking 5-8 minutes to muscle off a stuck oil filter, to just attack it with the oil filter wrench or a big pair of channel locks (which i refer to as "the man tool") and rip that thing off.
A good pair of gloves is a major help. Mainly for the burn aspect. A good pair is a major help with the bloody knuckle aspect too.
Same with those nitrite (sp?) gloves.
I had a buddy that had a nice pair of gloves, heat resistant, reinforced at all of the knuckles the whole bit. And he would wear the blue gloves over those gloves when he did stuff like oil changes, that way, the good gloves didn't get soaked with oil and he could still use them on the next job. Ripping a pair of blue gloves off is a lot faster than having to scrub your hands clean in between jobs.

sounds like you get in a nice busy shop. and with your attitude and having someone you know work there, you ought to do really well for yourself.

I see what you mean with the gloves. I hardly ever use them but I wait for he car to cool down which I wont have a chance in this fast paced environment. I do have the Harbor Freight Special gloves but I doubt they're heat resistant so I will look into a better pair of those as well. I do have some channel locks too so they'll help. I'm just overwhelmed with joy and I will be trying to impress while I work there but not with a know it all attitude. I've learned when any boss offers info or advice, listen and try what they said even if your way is better. Sometimes it makes the boss man feel more important, and if my dude Jake gets a job there too it'll be even better because we'll have that place running like a tight ship in the British Royal Navy.

good luck, just be sure not to strip the drain bolts or drain bolt holes

and if you loose track of a drain plug take the time to find a correct one to replace it..

my lag is your courtesy head start

ATTENTION.... installing a head gasket, head studs or pistons and rods in your otherwise STOCK engine dose not make it a "built" engine! stop listing you cars for sale saying they are built when its not!!
