Found a dude selling an S13 coupe shell with a silvia front end with bricks for $1300. But it's a rebuilt title...

Anyone have any thoughts? Insurance higher? Registration difficult? I don't really care about resale, it would be a track beater... Never really dealt with salvage/rebuilt titles before, so I'm kinda unsure about how that all works.

 

registration and all that should be the same, (can't remember for sure, but I'm 85% sure it is the same)

Insurance is going to be a bit higher, but for a track beater, you're just going to have state minimums so it shouldn't make that much difference.

really, the only downside is the re-sale.
which you said you don't really care about it, so drop a stack of cash and get the car.

get some insurance quotes for that VIN number. I wonder if some of the smaller companies would even know if it was a rebuilt title or not...

 

Sean, it should affect insurance or registration much at all. Thats a pretty decent price, you should do it.

 

I'm gonna check it out this weekend. Looks pretty rough in the pics, but it's a coupe with a Silvia front... for what I want it for it looks pretty good.

 

its gonna be a track car, not a beauty queen, so what if it is rough.
A coupe that runs and drives is worth that much. The sil front just makes it a good deal.
