I didn't know that about GM. Just wiki'd it and it sounds pretty neat. I had the lightning mafs in mind for late-model american parts. The lightning should be good for around 700hp.

Just one word of caution about using these large diameter mafs. They have a tendency to be pretty crummy at low airflows, including idle. The volume of air is very low, so the intake pipe shape, distance from the turbo (if any), and filter setup can have a big effect on the accuracy of the reading. Air can be diverted around the element so that it's not read, and it can also swirl through the element making it read high. These can be tuned around to some degree, but they're best avoided.

That's why you install the maf in the trunk and run a 12 foot long intake pipe.

epstein, thanks, i'm not sure what my max power will be, but i have both z32 and q45 maf's. but i am using the Q45 right now and it idle's fine with 1000cc inj's, gt35r turbo with a 4" inlet and about 18 inches of 4" piping! But the Apex pfc is great on the base map, I'm just not sure whats going to happen when i get it tuned finally

my lag is your courtesy head start

ATTENTION.... installing a head gasket, head studs or pistons and rods in your otherwise STOCK engine dose not make it a "built" engine! stop listing you cars for sale saying they are built when its not!!
