whatsup tim, i gotta question.
i got some white smoke coming out the exhaust. it doesnt POUR out, but it comes out. i looked at a few things and, it doesnt run hot at all, and it doesnt look like its losing oil. could this be a faulty pcv valve letting tiny amounts of oil get burned? i wanted to turbo this motor, but not if its something serious like a head gasket or a cracked motor lol

what motor? ka's dont have pcv valves do they?

is it just at start up, or taking off from a light?

done, blown head gasket, and yea ka sorry bout that...its pouring white smoke a little more rapid now, and the back of the head (most heat) is drenched in oil. should of looked but i didnt get home til 3 last night and didnt think of it...
the real question is what motor to get, im kinda on a budget cuz i work part time, but it seems like ka's suck. flyspider has a minor built one for sale, should i get that or just go sr

ps...the head isnt drenched in oil, the block right under the head is drenched in oil, fixed

if moneys an issue, id get an na sr.
drive on it for a while, and piece together turbo stuff.

na srs arent the fastest shit ever or anything, but i think they drive way nicer than a ka.

i thought the na sr have weaker internals then the turbo ones.
plus ka's are pretty strong, but little tideous things are pissing me off one by one, like bolts breaking off in the block, etc.

NA SR internals are not weaker, higher compression limits how much boost you can run on pump gas. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the rods crankshaft (and pretty much the entire rotating assembly - the pistons are the exact same part #'s). The NA sr's also use a different waterpump and oil pump I believe and do not make use of coil per plug ignition (i.e. they use a distributor).

Edit: In the past I have read that the factory KA harness can be used on the NA SR, not entirely sure if this is true however.
