Brighthouse hookup
anyone have the hook up for Brighthouse?
I'm looking to get their 20 mbps service. When I lived in clearwater, I had a guy that would get it all installed, set up for free and get like the first month for free and all of that jazz.
Anyone have that kind of hook up down here in St. Pete?
I live near 49th street and 22nd ave north, if it matters

big giant --> LOL two story or 10 story does not matter.. for wireless. that would be your wireless router. brighthouse and verizon give you a connection and a modem or modem/router combo. verizon in general is going to be faster if you have fios, but it is only as fast as your router and as good as your connection. and WIRELESS hardware does not go through walls well regardless what service you have. cheerio

I have verizon fios and i live in a brick apartment and i have no issues using my wireless anywhere in the apt.. btw my apt isnt a little 700 sqf apt either, its 1200 sqf.
I would go the fios route, but it isn't offered in my area.
While I personally don't care for Brighthouse overall, they are offering their 20mbps second service far cheaper than Verizon is offering their "normal" highspeed. If I recall correctly, Verizon charges more than brighthouse and for half of the speed. Again, I'm talking about their non Fios service. I wish they offered Fios in my area.
I figured 20mbps would be the way to go considering we'll have three laptops on at any one time and we aren't going to pay for cable, so we'll be downloading a lot of tv shows and movies and all that jazz.
since we got on the topic of equipment, what are some decent modems/routers.
My father has brighthouse at his house and he pays for the faster service but by the time the modem slows it down and the wireless router slows it down even more, you would swear you were using Dial up. The connection is good, as in it is pretty much always there, it is just slow as balls, even when you are the only one using the internet. I know he just has whatever Brighthouse provided. I don't want to pay for 20mbps and only get to use 7 because my modem and wireless router sucks
