Default Problem: Brake Rotors

Well I just got back from Orlando last night. I was driving to Quizno's today to get some dinner and on the way home I heard the sound of metal on metal. So I get home and there is a small groove on both front brake rotors. Something similar to this happened to my back brakes a couple of months ago. First thing in the morning I'm either taking it to a shop or a friends house (I don't know if friend can do it yet) to get them fixed. Should I get new rotors or should i just have them shaved down? I don't really want to go to a shop because all they do is rip people off. They are just going to keep adding on things I "need" to do with equals more money I have to spend. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I replaced the brake pads and there is still a scraping noice coming from the driver side brake. My friend thinks that the rotor is warped so next week we are changing the rotor. Then we are going to tune my engine up. Can't wait!
