Attack of the electronic GREMLINS

For the past week my car has been acting WACKY. I am able to monitor the voltage from my turbo timer and at idle I and at 12.0-12.3 volts. As my rpms increase i lose voltage. While driving I am only making 11.0-11.3 volts. I replaced my S14 SR20DET alternator with one from a S13 SR20DET, and now I am making less power than the S14 alternator. This problem has gotten so bad that i have to jump start my car every time i want to drive it. Also i have noticed that if the car sits for a while that the battery slowly goes dead. The battery is only a few months.

all help i greatly appreciated........

sounds like you've got a short soemwhere if the car is going dead while sittign turned off.

i will check out that fuse...but if the fuse was blown then the alternator wouldn't charge at all?.....right?

I had similar problem as yours on my s14 sr as well.....i somehow blew the 75A fuse in ther relay box when i was trying to hook up some gauges.....try that...

PS. If it is the alternator, you may need to get it rebuild as s13 sr ones is totally different that s14's....S13's are 80A and S14's are 90A.....

There are places in tampa that will do this.....

but if the alternator fuse was bad then i would never charge my battery....correct?
