Question Rattly Heatshield (pic)

A bracket broke off of the heatshield and I get a rattle at 3k RPM.

Is the heatshield necessary to protect something above it?

If not, I'll just remove the rest of the heatshield, but if I need to protect something couldn't I use a radiator hose ummm... clamp? or equivalent to hold the heatshield still?

heat shield keeps warmth in the exhaust, not on your seat and floorboard.

uyse whatever you want to clamp it.

if there's no way to bolt it back up, just take it off. You're not hurting anything. It kinda keeps the heat from entering the cabin, but you're not hurting a thing. I removed a section when I installed my stromung exhaust.

I'll prolly end up removing all the shields when I install a 3" exhaust (got an upcoming SR20DET )

My 95 S14 is doing that same thing with the heatshield rattling.. It is very annoying, I think I will just use a metal clamp on mine.

I took care of it yesterday with a metal clamp.

Very easy, not a bitch like all the other stuff that's going on underneath the car. (Needs lift or jack stands or something)
