I need advice on replacing the valve lifters on a ga16 in a 96 sent gxe. The.car ticks and smokes. Should igo to the junkyard and get the lifters or just suck it and and buy new ones?

I have never seen junkyard parts such as lifters end up with any good results.
It might be worth the risk, IF the engine is still sealed, but if it has been exposed to who knows what elements, then I'd stay away from it.
If it were me, I'd suck it up and buy the new stuff.
