Default buying an S15 sr20 swapped S14 and need guidence

Sooooo, Im looking to make the jump into the SR20 240 world. I think I have found a car Im interested in and need some help. Im looking at a S14 with a S15 SR20. Jim Wolf ecu and a few nice upgrades. The seller says that he believes it needs a piston ring because the car is only running on 3 cylinders. Should I be very worried? Worst comes to worse I can always replace the block right? How hard is it to get a S15 block? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. He also said that he will have his mechanic (a reputable guy in the area) Fix the issue for some extra cash. But he hasnt had the motor apart to actually diagnose this. What am I getting my self into? Thanks!

Very difficult to get an S15 block. Don't buy it.

Difficult? or expensive? I know that I want the S15 SR. with the 6speed. But I am still new to the SR world so maybe its only I think I want it. I have found complete setups for the $3500 +/- range. But if someone already has it swapped....I have the money to spend on another short block. Thank you for the input, but I would appreciate it if you could expand on it.

Here is his description of the car:

Hard to find Real s15 SR20det with Real 6 speed tranny
Rare Original Veilside 3 piece wheels 17", staggered width
One off Japanese S.S. 3.5" racing exhaust
Rare JIC CoilOvers
Rare JIC Carbon fiber strut bar, Front and Rear
KAZAA or how ever you spell it, LSD
AC Nice and Cold, (cody AC Kit so just use a stock KA AC Compressor if it ever goes out)
Dual Fans
Pivot Dual Fan Controller with dual setting and water temp read out
Blitz Boost Controller
Pivot Turbo Timer
Pivot Tach with shift Light
Jim Wolf s15 tuned ecu, first one he ever did, he took a year to do it.
Walboro 255 fuel pump
Custom Driveshaft
Greddy V spec intercooler and piping kit
Apexi AFC
Pretty perfect interior with Awesome dash
Power Everything, including sunroof
New Tires
Dry Cell Racing Battery
Radiator Cooling plate

I also have many other parts, including a three piece Navan wing that could be part of the deal.
The car as you can see in the pics, is very clean with some of the usually little dings from shitty people.

This is as close to a perfect, unmolested, Never wrecked, Never had the dash or interior removed car. Hard to find these days.
So here is the story, about 12 years ago in Indiana I helped a friend do this swap from the ground up.
This motor cost 10k when he bought it, no joke I have all the receipts. Its crazy what people paid back in the day.
So, he has about nine other cars, (must be nice) and he drove this once ever month around the block.
Never raced or drifted it. He was too scared too. He wanted another car and wife told him he had to sell one.
I was the first dibs. So I have done the same, only driving it once in a while.
I also have a s13 with a RB in it, so I really like both, but do not have the need for two 240sx's.
I beat the ba jeesus out of my s13 with a welded diff, so I do not have a need to flog this one.
I will some times get on it, and its nice to see all the low end power the VVTI does on the S15,
coupled with the stock s15 bb turbo, it has some nice pull for a nice basic setup.

The Bad: One Cylinder needs re ringed, car still runs and drives.
Like always, Needs dings fixed and new clear coat.

$6000 for the car the way it sits. I really appreciate all the feedback.

An S14 SR is a direct swap engine wise, just keep your coil packs and install when you swap the longblock.

Huh? I just got confused. Are you saying I should just go with a S14 SR to replace the S15 SR? I was talking about just swapping the block out. Or are you saying that the s14 block is the same as the s15? Im sorry for not being well spoken on the subject and thats why I'm here. My miss-understanding comes form (and I'm probably wrong) that a short block is just the block itself and a long block would be a block with a head.

hes sayin the s15 and s14 sr engines are the same, you buy a s14 sr longblock, pull your engine out, bolt all your stuff onto the s14 sr then put it back in your car. unless you want to replace just the bottom end, which would be more work for the same thing
