Default head work on sr20det

I am curious if anyone has had any experience on port and polishing sr20det heads, or valve job, or anything else that I can do, also can anyone tell me how beneficial the aftermarket intake manifolds are horspower wisefor sr20det

doesn't seem like any of the above is worth ANY effort or time unless you are approaching the 400whp level.

enthalpy is pretty damn good at working with red top heads.

he's installed an entire valvetrain a few times on his motors.

I would like to acheive the 400+ level of hp with the combination of components that I am going to compile. I need to do head work with the amount of fuel that I am going to be flowing through, unless anyone knows other wise, but I would like some feedback from anyone who has head work done to their sr20det, I want to know whether it is beneficial or not on the sr motor

who is enthalpy and how do I get ahold of him?

thanks guys

u can PM Enthalpy on the board here, or call secret services. the number is listed in mr self destruct's signature, or go to www.vapor-trail.net and look up that stuff.

as for headwork on a turbo motor, you probably dont need to do polishing that much, but porting will help. if you are getting cams, valvesprings, and perhaps rocker arm stoppers (to keep from overrevving), you should have new seals, and possibly have the valves angle grinded or swirl polished. that will help some and while ur at it doing the new seals make sure to get new valve guides.

You do not need head work at all if you want 400rwhp. Enthlapy put down 405rwhp with a completely stock internaled motor.

If it was me, I would just put my money into turbo, fuel, tuning, etc and not worry about internal work till you are out flowing the head.

dr evil, he was definatly out flowing the head. cams are said to give him 50, almost 60 horsepower..

a T66 adn a T67 are two completely different beasts altogether.

do you even have a car yet?

why don't you drive your 240sx over to Secret Services in the new year, we'll show you in person what you can do to your ride to make it fast.

My suggestions.
Buy a swap. put it in, or have us install it for you. THEN start thinking about making power.

Acually I think just a T3/T04E 57 trim will do the trick (corect me if I am wrong), but the T3/T04E should make around 400rwhp and spool up faster than the GT3040 scott is using.

A T66 is way to big unless you plan on building the motor. A T67 wouldnt be that bad I dont think but it is a waste of money, just go with a T3/T04E, cheap and work great.

I know scott was out flowing his head, thats why he didnt get anymore power from the GT3040 right?
