Default This seems a bit high!?!

This is an estimate for my car given to me by my mothers mechanic. I think its a ridiculous price but i figured I'd check with you guys to see what you think. Is it reasonable or ridiculous? Mind you this is just the estimate I haven't let him touch the car without my full approval.

basically you could spend half that on tools and parts and give up a weekend. Im guessing this guy thinks your mom is paying so hes willing to rebuild everything and make some money. More than likely the problem your looking to fix doesn't relate to everything listed. Theres even a chance that after all that he still wouldn't have fixed either problem.

If she is paying though, I personally would let it happen and thank my mommy dearly for future proofing my car.

If you know how to use a wrench and a whatever else, you can do the majority of this yourself. In all due actuality, the price is ridiculous.

No my mother's not paying I am. I work full time plus I'm a full time student I don't have time to fix the car myself anymore. I thought the price is a little much. So my options are to either sell it, fix it, or part it out? With all its problems which would bring the highest dollar? I appreciate all the help guys

I'd rather not post it because it is actually my mother's mechanic and I don't need no ethugs flaming the shop because of me posting this on this website.
