S13 Rb25det clutch master cylinder problems
Ok ill get straight to the point we have had to replace the clutch master cylinder twice aready because the seals went out and would not build pressure, we will replace the master cylinder with a new oem s13 one from autozone and it does good for almost a month then out of no where it loses pressure. we remove the clutch master cylinder and its just like seals are gone out on the inside the shaft is real loose and moves side to side and wont build pressure. I was wondering the swap is running the stock skyline slave cylinder with the s13 line connected in to it could it just be to much for the oem s13 clutch master cylinder is so what could we do to fix this problem? we do have life time warranties on the clutch master cylinder its just irritating have to replace so much. And everything is stock.
Is your car a factory 5 speed? If the answer to that is no, the firewall where the clutch master cylinder mounts might have been drilled incorrectly and the rod is out of alignment with the pedal. If they aren't lined up right when the clutch is pushed in and out the rod will tear up the inside of the master cylinder. If that's not the case try the OEM Nabco/tokico unit. (I forget who makes it, but it's one of those two companies)
Im not sure if the car is a factory 5 speed, Ill ask the guy i bought the shell from and find out for sure. I bought the shell just to do this swap it came 5 speed from previous owner but it may not be factory im going to ask for sure, thanks for the info I can see how if that shaft is not lined it could mess up those seals.
I checked it out today the shaft is pretty straight with the pedal, might just go ahead and get another through the warranty cause i need the car its my DD and i'll order one of those nabco or tokico units for back up
most of the time, the stuff you're getting from AutoZone is a refurbished unit. That usually means SAE sized seals in a Metric sized cylinder. They can get really really really close, but not always close enough. So if they have a bad batch, then you might be the only one helping to filter through them all.
If you think the part is wrong, then step up to the Z32 master.
I doubt that is the issue, but hey, if you're swapping them out all of the time, might be worth your trouble.
