Default Tires Rubbing on stock shocks!!! wtf???

I got 18x9 in the back with 275 40 tires. The driver side is rubbing/sitting right on the shock but the passenger side has just enough space so that it doesn't rub. I just put these tires on and got the car aligned, everything is pretty much stock besides the rlca's

Here are the pictures of the passenger side

And Driver side

So my question pretty much is did my aligment get fucked up, do the control arms need adjustment, or do I need new coilovers to be able to run this setup without killing my tires... It just seems odd to me that the passenger side sits well and the driver side is all retarded.

Camber is adjusted using the ruca, the shock itself is pretty static, its very possible that one side required less ruca length to achieve the same camber for both sides, making one rub, and the other not.

put a 5mm spacer on.. i hate spacers... but that is the most inexpensive route.. make sure you get spacers that are hub centric.

Even on stock upper control arms? weird... but
I think Im gonna go witht the 5mm spacers in the mean time - these should be able to fit on the regular studs right?

Yes, even with stock arms, because the camber is adjusted using an eccentric bolt, pulling the top of the spindle in, the shock being mounted to the spindle is just going to pivot allowing the wheel to move closer to the shock, things not matching up side to side is why you're having an issue only on one side.

Something is off...whats the offset on the wheels? Stock shocks or not you'll rub if you offset is too much on the positive side. Coilovers wont help the problem. Your best bet would be spacers. Are you sure the alignment isnt off??..you did say you just have it done. Where its ok on one side and off on the other, perhaps they didnt tighten everything up properly?
?

either you get spacers, rucas, or new wheels with lower offset,or smaller tires

I see your problem.....

The the LCAs probably arent adjusted to the same legth, and they had to pull the top of the wheel closer in to make the camber less.

Buy stock LCAs, then get it re-aligned. You have no need for aftermarket LCAs, especially if you have everything else stock.
