Default bandwagon

the whole 'bandwagon' comments are interesting, there was a few 240s that were purchased recently, with some being coincidence and others intending to copy our well known 'the-rapist'...
then it seemed as if you bought a 240 you were a 'bandwagon-eer'
i remembered something the other day, my POS 240 is my 4th nissan. in fact not to sound old or anything, but i was driving nissans before some of you were even out of middle school. 2 300s and a 95 v6 pu. i really enjoyed driving those vehicles, and i do enjoy my 240. but all this car is is my daily driver. not sure if i was trying to make a point or not, maybe i am getting old...

I bought my car to copy the "therapist". There's nothing wrong with it either. The best method to take when building a car is this:
1) Find someone fast
2) Copy their setup

Will my car look like his? No. I'm not for totally gutted track machine. My car will have full interior, A/C, and full power amenities.

I purchased a 240 to build simply becuase of the "bang for the buck" you get from a swap. There aren't many other alternatives for getting a 12 second car so easily and reliably. But I love driving the car in it's stockness now.

And for the record, this is my FIFTH Nissan.
94 Altima SE 5 speed
95 x-cab truck XE 5 speed
93 300zx N/A 5 speed
93 300zx TT 5 speed
91 240sx LE 5 speed

And Like Ronin, I was driving my first Nissan before many of you were even in Middle School.

So I don't consider myself on the bandwagon, because I'm not building this car to be like anyone else, I'm building it as a fun car to drive on the weekends and on cold nights.

Nothing wrong with that. Let someone else break shit and spend money on combos that don't work (on their way to one that does). It's a great learning experiance.

yeah i will have had my car for one year on december 20th, 2002. do i care if its bandwagon? no. will it look like any other black s14 out there? absolutely not.

i dont care if people copy me or whatever. cuz in the end i plan to be faster than 90% of these other nissans. (disclaimer: 'in the end' might mean months, or years, but not never)

you knwo what.
i got my z31 as soon as i turned 15. that is well over 5 years ago folks. 5 f'ing years ago and i already kenw about almost 75% of the swaps that i know about today. i had intake exhaust cams ignition and pretty much every little thing you can do to the old n/a nissan. in no way am i a rear drive bandwagon. either. I didnt move out of the z31 because i wanted to bandwagon the 240. i moved out of the z31 because quite frankly the cars are too old to easily obtain parts and support for them.

i drove the car to a 10.0@70 mph in the 1/8 mile anda 15.2 @ 90 miles per hour which was very respectable for a full interiored z31. This is when i just turned 16 years old i immediatly took it to the track. I'd been driving beating on drifting sliding kicking ass and pretty much enjoying the ride that nissan intended for the past 5 years in my z. Finally, i've moved on to a 240sx, and i really like this car alot also. I know i've joined the bandwagon, but you know what. I rather view myself as one of the larger founders of it. I had my Z31 out at subs when shin had his aw11 mr2, and before his brother had the black s13 that got swapped. i remember when rob was into a g20, john had a honda 2000 and dan had a kitted out camry. carey thought her white sentra was cool, craigs mustang was never going to be finished, and nobody knew who chismoe was although his signature with a honda s2000 antenna sure sounded gay. oh and get this, whoady was driving an automatic 1.6L sentra playing ghetto music slowed down. I remember when jay whitely pulled up in his gti-r powered 200sx. i have that on video. in no way am i joining the crew. ive been around for many moons. although i'm still young and have many more moons to go, in no way am i joining the bandwagon altogether. i 'm just switching what chassis i'm riding it out on.
