annoying s13 problem
For about 3 days now my car cuts out past 4k rpm while driving. Goes past that in neutral. I pulled codes and had 14-front 02 sensor and a vehicle speed sensor circuit loop open. I cleared them and drove the car for a few mins and then rechecked for codes and it was all clear. Would a bad speed sensor be doing that?

when it cuts out do you mean it shuts off or wont go past 4000 rpms if it does go past 4grand its usually a mass air flow sensor advance auto parts sells maf cleaner but if it dies out when it hits 4000 then im not sure
kshady has a point. It could be your MAF starting to take a shit. dirty. loose plug. maybe the seal on the sensor itself is going bad and getting moisture in there.
could always try unplugging the speed sensor too and see if that changes anything. Won't have a speedo, but the ecu won't know how fast it is going so that rules out the speed related idea.
could be something really dumb, like the ECU thinks it is in 5th gear all of the time and you're hitting a rev limiter.
hell, unplug everything off of the tranny and see if it still does it.
It would be pretty dumb if that was the problem, but you never know.

Well it drove to gainesville today; on the high way it was fine.. I get off and drive a mile or two and then starts to want to die..like the rpms will just drop.. giving it gas wouldn't do anything. It would go down... eventually it would let me accelerate slowly and then sometimes it would die on trying to take off. Well it finally stopped working lucky I broke down near a advanced auto parts so I buy a new fuel filter...put it on and started driving home. it seemed fine on 441 for a while until I got close to ocala then it bstarted acting up again.. not wanting to stay running so I decided to try and push the gas pedal through the fire wall.. which seemed to work.. well it would keep it from dying it just wouldn't accellerate. It just got worse the closer I got to home.
Sorry about the story haha.
But I really need some input. What could be causing this?
Today was the first time I had a full tank in who knows how long. Could it be an overwhelming amount of gas tank rust going to the filter?
also once it dies i would try starting it, it would run for half a second and die..probably had to try starting it 5 times. it was amazingly fun while in busy intersections.
i also dont even have a working speedo... it stays pineed at just under 45 while driving
