at the shop i work at here in town we use a mustang dyno, now i've used dynojets before and i am by far much more happy with the results from a md dyno. they allow you to put actual road force load on the car and allow the engine to sustain a certain rpm much longer than a dyno jet(which really feels like your just free revving a engine). I feel that you are able to get a much better feel for the engine tuning wise on a md dyno.

Mustang or any eddy current dyno will give you a more "real world" number than say a dynojet or packs.... Ultimately it is a tuning tool, but if you want bragging numbers, go to your local dynojet. Trap speeds are really your only true indicator of power.

I have a buddy that has a Supra, he laid down 820whp on a Mustang dyno in TPA. He raced a guy that put down 900whp on a dynojet. Needless to say, he walked away from that guy in the race.

On a side note, I've heard rumors that S and R's dyno is reading a bit high as well. I had a good friend have his subie dyno'd there. Dyno sheet says 405/405 but traps speeds are 113-115 range. To me that's only mid 300's. His 60ft's were 1.7's all day.

On that note, Babilla, I'd like to see your car dyno'd on a Mustang dyno, or hit the local drag strip for some trap speed results.

I did that on purpose because I knew i was going to strap up to Mustang Dyno.

my traps at this same whp 132mph 1.6 60 ft with a SR tranny.. my z32 will probably be slower at the same #'s without changing the 3.91 rear. I am going to strap up to Zfevers dyno probably some time next week for a true comparison of #'s.

The thing is that SAE correction still affects the numbers based on the dyno's weather station. And, I've seen some damaged weather stations apply some crazy factors. That's why I never use any correction. Just give me apparent power.

i hear you and respect what you are saying, but... with sae correction on (which means it was OFF), the number was very different. these are raw numbers. the field you are seeing is just a field and is not populated with any variable. there are several correction settings to choose from, "none" was selected.

I'm not trying to pick a fight, but I really don't think your explanation is right. If there's no correction is would say "CF: UNCORRECTED" followed by smoothing 0.

Like this (Race Related's 248c):

I would find it hard to believe that the data exported from Winpep as a jpg would differ from data printed from Winpep.
